  • Power on the printer and open the printer’s Setup menu.

  • Click the Start menu on the computer.

  • Check for firmware updates.

Disrupted communication with your 123 hp printer can result in the message: ‘Offline’ displaying on the screen while attempting to print. This issue can be resolved as follows:

  1. Run 123 HP PRINTER Print and Scan Doctor and select Test Print to troubleshoot the printer offline problem.
  2. Right-click your 123 hp printer icon under Devices and 123 hp printers and select Set as Default 123 hp printer. Right-click the 123 hp printer icon again and select See What’s Printing to open the print queue. Uncheck Pause Printing Use the 123 hp printer Offline and then attempt printing again.

    Open the 123 HP PRINTER 123 hp printer Assistant and follow the prompts to add a new 123 hp printer to Devices and 123 hp printers. In 123 hp printer Properties, select the standard port you created and attempt printing.
  8. Attempt printing after disconnecting from any guest or host network and reconnecting back to your own network.
  9. Go to Utility to change the connection type to your 123 hp printer and then attempt printing.
  10. Remove your 123 hp printer from Devices and 123 hp printers and then install a new driver for your 123 hp printer.
  11. Go to Devices and 123 hp printers and open the 123 hp printer Properties for your 123 hp printer. Select the port being used, in the Ports tab, click Configure Port, and then uncheck SNMP Status Enabled. Re-enable SNMP if the problem remains unresolved.
  12. Either turn off the IPv6 setting in the Advanced network settings menu on your 123 hp printer control panel or search your 123 hp printer IP address on your internet browser and select Enable IPv4 only in the Network or Networking tab.
  13. Try connecting to your 123 hp printer from another computer and attempt printing to make sure that the problem doesn’t rest with your computer.
  14. Uninstall your 123 HP PRINTER 123 hp printer software. Attempt printing after restarting your computer, and reinstalling the 123 hp printer software.

  1. If communication to your computer has been established via a USB cable connection and it states the printer offline, disconnect the cable. Reconnect it after a while and then attempt printing.
    If communication to your computer has been established via a network connection, Disconnect the power cord from your router. Reconnect it back after a while and then restart your Mac. Click the apple icon and go to System Preferences. Open 123 hp printers and Scanners/ Print & Fax / Print & Scan and click on the name of your 123 hp printer. If you do not find the name of your 123 hp printer, reconnect your 123 hp printer to the network and then click Open Print Queue to try printing.
  2. Turn on the 123 hp printer and disconnect the power cord. Plug the power cord back in, turn on your 123 hp printer again and then attempt printing.
  3. If you find that there are multiple 123 hp printer queues for your 123 hp printer in the 123 hp printers and Scanners list, remove all except for the one that displays an ‘idle’ status and then attempt printing.
  4. Delete your 123 hp printer that says printer offline from the 123 hp printer’s list. Attempt printing after adding it back again.
  5. Note: Resetting deletes all documents in the print queue.
  6. Reset the Printing System by right-clicking on the 123 hp printer’s list and clicking on the option. Add your 123 hp printer back to the list and then attempt printing.
  7. Attempt printing after disconnecting from any guest or host network and reconnecting back to your own network.
  8. Try connecting to your 123 hp printer from another Mac and attempt printing to make sure that the problem doesn’t rest with your computer.
  9. Confirm that your wireless router supports multicasting.
  10. Either turn off the IPv6 setting in the Advanced network settings menu on your 123 hp printer control panel or search your 123 hp printer IP address on your internet browser and select Enable IPv4 only in the Network or Networking tab.
  11. Select 123 HP PRINTER Jet direct- Socket after entering your 123 hp printer’s IP address under the IP tab of the 123 hp printers and Scanners list. Add your 123 hp printer back to the list and attempt printing.
